Tabley House Garden Party and Retirement Celebrations

Karen and the Team

Tabley House recently held their annual garden party, a day of summer fun for residents, staff and families. This year, the event provided an opportunity to celebrate the Registered Manager, Karen Lynskey, who is soon retiring after managing the service for almost 20 years.

A DJ provided music and entertainment for the afternoon, with staff and residents getting up to dance in the sunshine. An ice cream van was on hand to hand out refreshments to keep everyone cool and ‘Happy Retirement’ banners, created by staff and residents, decorated the garden.

The team shared heartfelt messages for Karen, recognising her years of service both within Cygnet and beyond. The Operations Director for the region, James O’Neil said,

“This year, Karen celebrates almost 45 years of being a registered nurse. 19yrs ago Karen was appointed to be the Matron of Tabley House.

“Karen, your journey with us has been nothing short of inspirational. Your unwavering commitment to excellence, your tireless work ethic, and your ability to lead with both strength and empathy have left an indelible mark on this organisation.

“We wish you all the best in your retirement. May it be filled with joy, adventure, and the fulfilment of dreams long postponed. And above all, may you continue to inspire and uplift those around you, just as you have done here.

The entire Tabley team supported with the event, the catering team provided a wonderful BBQ and a very special cake for Karen. The garden set up was supported by the maintenance and activity teams.

Rachel Burke, the deputy manager, said; “As well as a fantastic leader and role model, Karen has been a constant in our lives with her open door policy.

“She has supported, cried with, consoled and hugged, at some point, most of us here today. I am sure on some days that office is busier than Crewe station and none of us can imagine the office without her in it especially me.

“On behalf of all the staff, past and present, we couldn’t have wished for a better person to have guided us through all the challenging, sad, but mostly happy days at Tabley. We wish you nothing but happiness & relaxation in your retirement days!”
